Spelling Books!

Just a quick note to say it is my fault your child hasn't got their spelling book today!!!! With the mad rush of PE and getting coats on and done up I completely forgot! They will be given out tomorrow!

Autumn Week 1

What a fab start to the term all the children have made!

We have worked really hard on our letter formation this week, ensuing we start at the top of each letter and work our way around. We've also thought about capital letters and full stops and will continue to do this.

In maths, the children have been using a lot of practical resources to practise their counting and number recognition skills. There has been a lot of concetration and all the children have worked well with slightly more structured lessons.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you Monday morning!

Summer 2 Week 2

Class 2 have been working extremely hard this week during all of their lessons, especially when completing their phonics quiz with Miss Ingle. Well done everyone!

In English, we have been looking at using adjectives to describe different minibeasts. We used these adjectives to create minibeast riddles for our friends to solve.

In maths this week, we have recapped our addition and subtraction knowledge.

We have also created an aerial view map of our classroom in geography, identified important features found in Synagogues in RE, practiced our catching and throwing skills in PE and used different colours to create a picture of an animal we might find on our class trip next week.

Reminders:

  • Please ensure that your child comes to school daily with a named hat and water bottle.
  • All children will need their named PE kit in school every day.
  • If your child is going home with a different adult, please let myself or Mrs Rule know. If it is a regular occurrence for another adult to take your child home, please write this on a piece of paper to let us know this is fine on an occasional basis.
  • All children will need a packed lunch for our trip on Thursday (20th).
  • Please ensure that your child is in school promptly on Thursday ready for the trip.

Have a lovely weekend

Miss Leake
