Autumn 1 Week 1

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to another school year! We had a great week getting to know the children and our new classroom! We have also enjoyed meeting most of the parents and would like to say thank you for being so patient at pick up time. Hopefully it won't be too long until we recognise all the new faces!

In Maths this week we looked at place value and practised partitioning two digit numbers into Tens and Units. In Literacy we wrote a Recount about our summer holidays using time connectives and of course full stops and capital letters. We also started our new Geography topic and compared features of towns and the countryside. In RE we looked at our new value 'Thankfulness' and thought about the things that we are thankful for.

We look forward to seeing you all again next week!

Have a lovely weekend!

Spring week 4

Hello

Arts days were fantastic and so much fun! The work children created was amazing, if you haven’t already, take a look at the pictures on our website to see what we got up to. On Friday we had our Arts Days assembly where we shared all our work with the rest of the school. It was brilliant to see all the work the school had created in one place.

Don’t forget to come along to open session on Monday 5th February to look at all the work children have been doing so far this year and to see the fantastic foyer, where all our Arts Days work will be displayed.

Spring week 3

Hello

This week we have been learning lots of new things.

In maths we have focused on finding fractions of numbers, we can now do this confidently.

In English we have been learning how to write in the past and present tense, we have been trying to stick to the same tense in one piece of writing.

During RE this week we reflecting on how the Easter story makes us feel, Mrs Hoar was very impressed with our deep thinking.

This week some of our children went to play cricket in a competition and WON! We are very proud of them!

Have a relaxing weekend
