Well-being week in Class One

This week in Class One, we have been talking all about ‘wellbeing’ as part of national ‘wellbeing week’. We have been thinking about what to do if we feel sad or angry, been talking about how to be a good friend, thinking of ways to keep us healthy and practising our ‘self-help’ skills so we can get better at problem solving with independence. One of our favourite parts of the week was our visit from Herts Catering where we got to sample lots of new fruits! Our favourite was the physalis which looks like a little superhero, hidden in its cape! We also enjoyed the dragon fruit, star fruit and figs although the ‘lime challenge’ was hard to do without pulling a very sour face!

In other news, we have enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year this week. The children have taken part in a variety of Chinese inspired activities including making Chinese lanterns, writing our names in Mandarin, creating animal puppet and masks based on the Chinese zodiac and creating our own dragon dances in PE. Ask us this weekend if we can remember how to say Happy Chinese New Year in Chinese! Enjoy your weekend
