Home  //  Children  //  Pupil Councils

Our Pupil Council is made up of 2 representatives from each year group and we are elected by the other children in our year groups. When we do our election, children who stand for school council do a manifesto, make a speech and then everyone votes. This helps us to learn about democracy.

We meet every few weeks with Mrs Peddie to discuss things about school which we could change or things we would like to do.  It is a good way to share ideas from the classes.

One of our School Governors joins us for our meetings too, usually Mrs Thake.  Lots of things have happened in our school because of School Council.

Here are just a few of the things we have done:

  •     We raised money to have 'Living Eggs' in school
  •     We support Comic Relief and Children in Need every year
  •     We planted a new laurel tree
  •     We came up with ideas to improve playtimes
  •     We helped to choose some playground equipment that we would like to have
  •     We made posters to encourage people in school to remember to turn off lights and taps
  •     We helped organise the gifts at the Harvest Festival in Church
  •     We think of ways to support charities nd fundraising by coming up with new ideas, organising the event and counting the money

School Council 2016 - 2017 are:

Y6:        Maddie and Ben
Y5: Lily and Curtis
Y4: Jake and Elin
Y3: Oliver and Amelia
Y2: Romey and Elliot
